Cyber Security Auditing Specialist III

Location: Aberdeen, Maryland

Clearance Requirement: Top-Secret or Higher

Responsibilities:

  • Perform static and dynamic software code analysis.

  • Apply threat modeling to ATEC computer systems.

  • Perform hardware and software risk and vulnerability assessments.

  • Review cyber security documentation to ensure compliance with security and engineering requirements.

  • Monitor and audit FISMA requirements to ensure all systems meet STIGs requirements.

  • Provide configuration management services on all hardware, software, and communication items.

  • Assess system compliance and all artifacts into DOD’s Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).

  • Ensure all security plans are compliant with new RMF requirements.

  • Evaluate technical risks and understand how changes in system configuration and/or network architecture affect a system’s security posture.

  • Assist with security assessments and conduct risk management.

  • Certification and Accreditation - Ensure the proper security controls are in place against published cybersecurity polices and standards to all ATEC applications, networks, and enclaves.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess active DOD Secret clearance.

  • Must possess DOD 8570.01-M certifications meeting the requirements for CSSP-AU and/or IASAE Level II with IAT Level II

  • Relevant education in the assigned program area (Computer Science, Computer, Cyber Security, or Information Assurance) with specific experience in cybersecurity and/or information assurance, or related technical field at the network environment level

    • 5 plus years with Bachelors

    • 7 plus years with no degree with technical certifications

  • Relevant experience must be in information security or network/system administration, and/or a closely related function, such as IT auditing, IT compliance, enterprise risk management, performing cybersecurity assessments and inspections, providing incident response, creating/ updating/ implementing cybersecurity-relevant policies and procedures.

  • Experience with software assessments and application threat modeling.

  • Understanding and experience performing software and hardware risk and vulnerability analysis or closely related function, such as technical assessment of software for networks, applications, and systems.

  • Experience using cybersecurity /IT audit tools such as ACAS, HP Fortify, HP Web Inspect, BURP Suite and other software assurance tools.

  • Specialized experience in AS&D STIG compliance, secure software development/testing, static and dynamic code analysis.

  • Experience with DOD regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks, including NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, DoD RMF, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of systems and networking.

  • Experience with technical writing.

  • Experience with basic scripting.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, though not required.
