Senior Software Developer

Location: Alexandria, VA (Mark Center)

  • Primarily telework with occasional onsite meetings

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance

The primary role of the Developer is to provide maintenance and operating efficiency for a web application and database in support of the Defense Privacy Civil Liberties & Transparency Division (PCLT). The Developer will analyze, design, coordinate, supervise, and maintain new and existing databases, including SQL Server databases and information systems residing on government and cloud service providers. They will write, edit, and debug computer programs for assigned projects and review, to the extent possible, changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance. They will also be responsible for coordinating PCLT database and information system compliance with risk management and accreditation requirements, including authorizations to operate (ATOs).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, systems engineering, or higher preferred.

  • 5+ years of C# development, Visual Studio, & SQL Server Database experience.

  • Experience developing and maintaining DoD or other Federal agency information systems.

  • Software engineering experience in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Possession of CompTIA Security+ certification for privileged user access for maintaining information systems and databases residing on Government and cloud servers.

  • SharePoint development experience is desirable.

  • General proficiency in Microsoft Development tools

  • Comfortable working both independently and in small team environments.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document efforts and processes consistently and to industry standards.

  • Currently Possess an Active DoD Secret clearance
